Adopt a Sheltie
More Shelties - Referrals
Occasionally there are shelties and other dogs needing homes that are
referred by their owners. These dogs have not been evaluated by Austin
Sheltie Rescue Group. All information regarding health and temperament
has been provided by their owners or fosters.

Harrison - Harrison is a quiet gentleman, with the usual problems of old age. His eyesight is not what it once was, and so he moves slowly sometimes. However, when he becomes accustomed to his new home, he will be playful with other dogs who invite him to a game. Cats do not interest him at all. Harrison is a dream to walk, unless you are wanting to do a power walk. He is housetrained, sleeps wherever you give him a bed, and likes to stay close by.
He is a 9 year old pure rough collie. He has been neutered, vetted, microchipped, and is heartworm free. When he was found, he was skinny and horribly matted. Because of his good looks and the fact that he was not neutered, I speculate that he may have been used as breeding stock. Maybe he was put out when he no longer produced puppies like a young dog could.
I will be looking for an extra special home for this quiet, gentle beauty. Please call or email for an adoption application. After the application is reviewed, vet and personal reference checks will be done. A personal appointment to meet Harrison will then be set up, and a home visit will be made prior to adoption. The adoption fee for Harrison is $150 and an adoption contract must be signed.

Pua - Pua is a 2 year old, 55 lb mix who we need to re-home due to our OTHER dog attacking her. It doesn't make sense to re-home the good dog, but with our other dog's behavior issues, it's the best thing for all involved in our family, especially Pua.
Pua means 'flower' in Hawaiian and she is the perfect flower! She is an obedient dog who is smart, great tempered, great with other dogs, and with children.
She has been training flyball for a year with Dogz Rule! Flyball of Austin , TX and she will be at Reliant dog show as a warm dog and possibly even a running spot.
We would prefer her to go to a flyball or agility home.
Pua is spayed, up to date on her vaccinations, heartworm negative, and is on heartworm preventive.
We can provide references on her behavior and her training.

Taffy - Taffy is looking for a new home. Taffy is 12 years old, is spayed, heartworm negative, and totally housebroken. Taffy is looking for a home away from small children and other dogs. LULA BELLE - Lula Belle is a 5 year old sable and white female sheltie who has multiple allergies. She is dearly loved and her current guardian is trying to find a home for her that is a better environment for Lula Belle's allergies. An ideal situation for Lula Belle would be a non-smoking family that is settled and stable, with quiet children if there are any, no cats and no more than one other gentle dog.. The family should have the finances for and be willing to provide her with regular veterinary care for her allergies (including giving allergy shots), and should be willing to allow her to be a house dog. Lula Belle is house trained, leash trained, and very gentle. She loves people and other animals. |
