Sorry to report that my beloved Daisy crossed the rainbow bridge on Friday. She brought so much joy to us in the short 5 1/2 years that she was with us. I would not have survived the pandemic lockdown without her and getting me to go outside for her much loved walks. When her latest blood work results indicated that her kidney disease had reached end stage and the things that she loved (walks and sharing her morning banana with grandma) no longer interested her, I knew it was time. We had one last cuddle session at the vets before she went to sleep peacefully.
Thanks to Austin Sheltie rescue for bringing this special girl into our lives.
Adopted October 2019
Daisy is an 8 year old tri-colored sheltie. She was an owner surrender due to too many dogs and she needed some attention. Daisy is up to date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative, spayed, and on heartworm preventive. Daisy is 14 inches tall and weighs 28 pounds, should be 24 or 25 pounds. Daisy is on a weight reduction regimen, better nutrition and daily exercise. She takes daily walks and loves doing it. She is very social with dogs and humans, big and little, that she meets along the way. She is house trained and crate trained. Daisy has recently had a dental and lost several teeth but loves eating treats and ice cubes.
