Adopted December 2013

Harley -Harley is between 6 to 8 years old.  His owner is being transferred out of the country and asked us to find him a new home.  Harley is about 17 inches tall and weighs around 35 pounds.  He is neutered and up to date on all of his vaccinations.  But because his previous owner failed to keep him on heartworm preventative, he will have to undergo heartworm treatment and won’t be available until around Thanksgiving.  Harley has excellent house manners and walks well on a leash.  He gets along with other dogs and small children.  He is also quite friendly and well socialized, he seldom meets a stranger.

Adopted December 2013

Smoochie – Smoochie came to us recently when there was an illness in the family.  She is a 7 year old bi-blue sheltie.  Her coat is burnt right now but with good food, inside time, and good grooming her coat will be beautiful.  Smoochie is about 16 inches tall and weighs 24 pounds.  She is up to date on all vaccinations, has been spayed, had a dental and lost a few teeth.  We are sad to say that Smoochie is heartworm positive and will require heartworm treatment.  Smoochie is a sweet girl that gets along well with other dogs.  She is sociable with her foster family, is crate trained and is learning how to use the doggie door.

Adopted December 2013

Eli – Eli and Shaggy were both surrendered to our rescue group because of family changes. Eli is a handsome sable and white male sheltie who is 8 years old, weighs 30 pounds, and stands 15 inches tall. He is neutered, up to date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative and on heartworm preventative. He recently had a dental cleaning.

Eli has a sweet and friendly personality, although he is cautious when he first meets people, especially males. Since he has been in his foster home, he has become very comfortable and is starting to show his true personality. He is an extremely playful and very loving dog. He wakes up in the morning and the first thing he wants to do is play! His foster mom feels if Eli lost a few pounds, he would be even more active. He loves attention from everyone and will nose Shaggy out of the way so he can steal the spotlight from him.

Eli gets along well with other dogs. Eli is housebroken and has not had a single accident in his foster home. When he needs to go outside, he will let you know by his little dance; and if you ignore him, he will bark at you. He has learned how to use a doggie door and enjoys spending time in the back yard running and playing. He walks very well on a leash and enjoys going on walks. He gets along well with children and loves to interact and play with the young girl at his foster home.

Adopted November 2013

Maggie May – Maggie May has a tough story to tell.  Her owner left the house one day and never came back, sometimes other people would come in and feed her but she was left by herself inside the house for about a month.  When she was saved by the Georgetown Animal Control, she was filthy, her nails were growing into her pads, she had an ear infection and she was missing a bit of hair.  We are guessing Maggie May is about 13 years old.  She is up to date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative, on heartworm prevention and spayed.  She loves to take walks on leash, knows a few commands and has excellent house manners.  She gets along very well with other dogs and with cats. Maggie May doesn’t always respond to noises so she may be deaf or it could be that the ear infection is causing her not to hear as well as she should.

Adopted November 2013

Teddy – Teddy  is another of our recent owner surrenders.  He is about 2 years old and is a tri-colored sheltie.  His coat is a bit burnt right now but will come in black and shiny with a little time, good nutrition and good grooming.  Teddy is current on all vaccinations, heartworm negative and on heartworm preventative.  He stands about 12 inches tall and weighs 12 pounds.  He is a little unsure of meeting new people but quickly warms up.

Adopted October 2013

Maizy – Maizy just recently came to us from our local shelter as a stray. When the rescuer opened the pen door, she got up from a bed and purposely walked over to the rescuer as if to say ‘Where have you been…I’ve been waiting’ and put her head in the leash. She is between 7 and 9 years old, is up to date on all vaccinations, is heartworm negative and on heartworm preventative. Maizy stands about 12 inches tall and weighs 18 pounds. She is sable and white and after her burnt coat grows out, it will be glorious.

She is now up-to-date on all her vaccinations, heartworm negative and on heartworm preventative. She was recently spayed and also had her rear dewclaws removed. She is healthy and ready for adoption.

Coco is a very sweet, friendly, and sociable girl. She has a very good personality and likes to meet new people. She gets along well with children and dogs. She loves lots of attention and will gently nudge you for more attention with her nose. She likes to stay close to her foster parents. Coco is housebroken and is being crate trained. She is very energetic and loves to play with her toys. Her foster mom said that she has been good about only chewing on her toys. However, since she is a young dog, she is very curious about everything within her reach. Coco likes her yard and enjoys running and playing when she is outside. She rides well in a car. Coco needs a home with a family who has time to work with her and teach her basic commands. She will require alot of attention since she is a young dog.

Adopted September 2013

Sissy – Sissy is an recent owner surrender.  Sissy is a blue merle sheltie that stands about 13 inches and weighs 16 pounds. She is  between 2 and 3 years old.  Sissy is now up to date on all vaccinations, spayed, has had a recent dental, is heartworm negative and on heartworm preventative.  Sissy is a bit shy and is learning that leashes lead to fun things like walks, outside and going visiting.  Sissy gets along well with other dogs and is learning that people are not so scary.  She is also crate trained and likes to visit her crate off and on during the day.

Adopted September 2013

Laddie – Laddie’s owner had to give him up after raising him from a small puppy due to a fall and requiring hospitalization. Laddie is 7 years old, born in June of 2004, he stands 15 inches tall, weighs about 40 pounds (yep…the green bean diet is on the near horizon). He is up to date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative, on heartworm preventative, neutered and is scheduled for a dental. Laddie is enjoying walks for the exercise and he gets along well with other dogs, cats and small children.

Adopted September 2013

Pistol – Pistol just recently came into the program as an owner surrender.  He is a bi-blue, normally there would be no brown in his coat but because he has spent a good bit of time outside the coat has burnt to a brown color.    With good nutrition, inside time, and grooming his coat will be thick, full and long.  Pistol is 7 years old, up to date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative and on heartworm preventative.  He has been neutered and has had a recent dental.  He stands about 16 inches tall and weighs 30 pounds.  Pistol gets long beautifully with other dogs, is coming out of his shell and is quite sociable.  He likes being close to his people and is crate trained.

Her pelvis was broken in several places and her tail was broken. She was filthy, matted and full of burrs. Laynie is a year old, 12 inches tall and weighs 13 pounds. Thanks to Dr. Gower at Central Texas Veterinary Specialty Hospital she now has steel plates in her pelvis and her tail has been amputated. She is about 2 years old, weighs 20 pounds, is up to date on everything, spayed, heartworm negative and is on heartworm preventative. Sophie is house trained, gets along well with other dogs and small children, and she loves to play…she still has a lot of puppy in her. Sophie is always busy with toys and such and is a bit of a clown.

Sheba – Sheba came to us after her owner passed away.  She was left alone in his house when he went to the hospital and was left there for a while…no one knew she was there or came by to check on the house.  We know she was well-loved prior to this and we are making her a promise that she will be safe from here on out.  Sheba is 7 years old, sable and white, up to date on all vaccinations,  heartworm negative, and on heartworm preventative.  She stands about 17 inches tall and weighs 39 pounds…she is also working on losing some of that weight.  Sheba is a sweet girl that gets along well with other dogs.

He has learned to walk well on a leash, can SIT and DOWN on command, and loves to play tug with toys and other dogs tails. Tanner is very sociable with people and with other dogs…..he is a bit cautious of cats. He has put on a few pounds and grown a bit taller.

Ducky – Also known as Duffy,  came to us a couple of weeks ago needing a new home.  He is 2 years old, sable and white  and is neutered.  Duffy has recently been updated on all of his vaccinations, is heartworm negative and is on heartworm preventative.  He stands about 16 inches tall and weighs 40 pounds.  We’ve started Duffy on a weight loss regime, lotsa green beans, and exercise program to help him get rid of a few pounds.  Duffy doesn’t have a shy bone in his body, when he first met his rescuer he let  her pet his head for a few minutes then rolled over for belly rubs.  He’s always happy and he loves to run and play.

Adopted April 2013

Michelle – Michelle came to us as an owner surrender, she’s a shy, tri-colored Sheltie American Eskimo mix.  Her home was getting too noisy and causing her stress.  Michelle is 4 years old (birthdate is 04/03/08),  stands about 12 inches tall and weighs 13 ½ pounds.  She is now up to date on all vaccinations and has been spayed.  When our vet examined and tested Michelle she found that she is high heartworm positive.  Heartworm preventative is really so inexpensive, there is really no excuse for letting a dog go without being protected…especially compared with the cost of treatment and how hard it is on these little furkids.  Michelle will start treatment in November and should be ready for adoption after the first of the year.

Adopted March 2013

Starr – Starr is the only female in the litter of Delta’s puppies and she is also a black and white.  She’s mainly black with a splash of white on her chest.

Some of the hair on her back looks reddish from being sunburned, she may have spent a good bit of time outdoors. She will soon have a beautiful, thick, black coat. Celeste is now spayed, up to date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative, and is on heartworm preventative. She had hookworms when she came in to rescue, but has been treated for them.

Celeste has very good house manners. She is housetrained and will let you know when she needs to go out by going to the door and acting anxious. She does like to jump up on the couch and will sleep either on the couch or on the floor.

She has a sweet and friendly disposition. Although, she exhibits some shyness when she first meets new people, she quickly warms up. She gets along very well with the other dog in her foster home.

Celeste is an energetic dog. She enjoys playing with squeaky toys and really loves to play fetch. She likes to go on walks and does well on a leash. So far, she has done very well on car rides too.

Celeste will be good in a home as an only dog, but will also do well in a home with other dogs. She will do best in a home with older children.

Celeste is looking for a home where someone will have time to play with her, love her, and take her on walks. She is going to make a wonderful companion for some lucky person or family out there!

Adopted March 2013

Pepper –Pepper came to us as a stray.  When our rescuer went to get Pepper out of her kennel at the shelter, she jumped up on her rescuer’s leg to let her know she was sure happy to see her. Pepper is about 9 years old, stands 16 inches tall and weighs 22 pounds. She is up to date on all her vaccinations.  Pepper had heartworms when we got her; however, she has successfully gone thru the heartworm treatment and is now on heartworm preventative. Pepper is spayed and has had a dental cleaning.  When we first got her, Pepper had some skin problems from a flea infestation but those have cleared up and she has an absolutely gorgeous merle coat with alot of light sable highlights.

Pepper is a sweet, bouncy, and bubbly sheltie with a very happy attitude. She has a very sweet personality and a calm demeanor and loves to meet new people. She is house trained and has learned how to use the doggie door at her foster home.  When she goes outdoors, she enjoys running around with the other foster dogs and chasing the squirrels.  Over time, as she has gained more trust in her foster mom, she has learned to enjoy brushing and tummy rubs.

Pepper gets along very well with the resident shelties and they often race each other out the door and across the lawn.  Pepper likes to sneak over and steal the other dogs’ toys and hide them with hers.  She prefers sleeping in her doggie bed.

Although she walks well on a leash, Pepper does not enjoy going on walks  She prefers to be a homebody and is very content just being with her family.

Adopted February 2013

Thor –Thor is a 5 ½ year old male that came to us as an owner surrender because he needs a new home with dogs his size that can run and play.  He is 16 inches tall and weighs 40 pounds(he needs to lose about 10 or more).  Thor is up to date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative , on heartworm preventative and is neutered.  Thor gets along with other dogs, but prefers them more to his size, and pretty much ignores cats.  Thos has a long list of commands that he responds to and he enjoys a short game of fetch.  He walks well on a leash and likes to be close to his family.

Adopted February 2013.

Oreo – Oreo is a 10 year old bi-blue with beautifully tipped ears.  She is up to date on all vaccinations, is intact but will be spayed before adoption, heartworm negative and on heartworm preventative.  Oreo is a quiet little girl, only about 10 or 11 inches tall, a little heavy at 20 pounds, she’s on an exercise program and loves her morning walks.  She loves to roll over on her back for belly rubs and she is very affectionate.  Oreo gets along great with other dogs and small children.

UPDATE:  Oreo has been spayed and she has had a dental cleaning.  We found a lump on her mammary glands when she was spayed which was removed and tested.  The biopsy came back benign.  Oreo is housetrained and crate trained.  She gets along great with small children, loves to play with toys and play fetch.  When her foster asks her if she wants to go outside, she rolls over on her back and asks for tummy rubs.   A quick command of Roll Over and she is back on her paws and heading to the door.

Adopted January 2013

Poquito – Poquito was surrendered to us with the request to help him find a loving and happy home. Dorie -Dorie was rescued at Pace Bend Park by a man out for a mountain bike ride.  He spotted her being stalked by a pack of coyotes.  He threw a towel around her,  scooped her up and took her to safety in his truck.  She sends him sheltie kisses and noselicks.   When she came into rescue she was covered in burrs and stickers.  Dorie is about 10 years old, weighs 23 pounds and is 13 inches tall.  She is up to date on all of her vaccinations, spayed, heartworm negative and on heartworm preventative.  Dorie appears to be house trained and gets along well with other dogs.   She is a polite young lady with lots of love to give.  More as we get to know about her.

Adopted January 2013

Happy and Freddie – Happy and Freddie were surrendered to us because their owner had to move into an assisted living center and could not take them with her. These two small shelties were born in March 2004 and just turned 8 years old. Since these two brothers are so bonded to each other, we decided we could not split them up. They are both up to date on all their vaccinations, neutered, heartworm negative, and currently on heartworm preventative.

Happy is a handsome sable and white dog with a beautiful healthy coat who stands about 15 inches tall and weighs appx 25lbs. He is the more outgoing and dominant of the two dogs. He loves attention and enjoys sleeping in a trundle bed in a young girl’s bedroom at his foster home. When we first got Happy, he had problems with itching and those seem to be under control with frequent baths (every 3-4 weeks) and over-the-counter allergy pills. Freddie is a handsome tri-sheltie with a beautiful healthy coat who stands about 14 inches tall and weighs appx 18 lbs.

Freddie has the more reserved personality of the two dogs. He prefers to sleep on the floor in the hallway, outside the young girl’s bedroom. He also loves attention and will let you know when he feels he is being ignored. These are two extremely sweet, well natured dogs who are housebroken and have excellent house manners. They have low-key personalities and are both very lovable. They are well socialized and get along very well with other dogs and with children. We believe they would be ok with cats, since neither dog is aggressive. They walk well on a leash and are very popular in their neighborhood. They ride well in the car.

These two boys have done very well in doggie events where they have received lots of attention and pets from people and children coming by. Happy and Freddie are ready to be adopted by their “furever” family. They are going to make a wonderful addition to the lucky family who adopts these sweet lovable boys! In fact, the neighbors always comment that they cannot believe that a family hasn’t already adopted these two wonderful dogs!
