Update May 3: Godspeed Willow. You were only with us a short time but we loved you so much. Willow came to us as an owner surrender in November 2024, actually she was dumped with a friend of a friend and we helped with the rescue. When she came in, our vet found she had a severe heart murmur. Last night she went into congestive heart failure which led to cardiac arrest.

Thank you to the Gabriela and her family for fostering and loving this wonderful, sweet gal. Our hearts go out to you, we know she had a special place in your family.

Welcoming Willow, an 8 year old sheltie that was abandoned at the pet sitter. Her coat is a bit sun burned but will grow back in as a rich black. She’s a bit overweight at 30 pounds, but foster family will help her get the weight off. She is now up to date on vaccinations, is heartworm negative and is on heartworm preventive. Willow gets along with other dogs and small children. When the vet examined her a heart murmur was found so we are having an ultrasound done to find out if medication will be required.

UPDATE: Willow has undergown an ultrasound on her heart and it has been found that she has a significant heart murmur.  She has been started on medication that we have found to be very helpful for sheltie with heart murmurs.  It  has shown to improve heart function and blood flow for dogs with heart murmurs and congestive heart failure.
