Dearest Brownie, to every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven. In the time that you were with us, you touched our lives deeply.  You simply blossomed here and knew that this was your forever home. In typical Sheltie style, you quickly mastered the doggie door, learned how to patrol the garden, selected from a wide variety of pet beds, sensed when it was time to have breakfast and dinner, and knew exactly when it was time to wake us up, usually at 4AM. You learned to ignore your sister Corá giving you the famous ‘side eye’ and liked brother Scotty wanting to share Lambchop toy parts with you.  We would not have had it any other way. You simply captured our hearts, who else would get two baths a week? What a handsome boy you were. We loved you so very much and you left us too soon. We wish that we had been the ones who had known you for your thirteen years instead of just three months. We miss you dearly but know that you are now with all of our other girls and boys enjoying all of the sunshine and warmth on the other side of Rainbow Bridge. Please know that St. Francis is with you to protect you. God bless you. We love you and miss you so Brownie.

August 19, 2024 – A sad thing happened yesterday, Brownie made his trip to the Rainbow Bridge. His health was not good when he came to rescue, he had tumors and joint issues. Sunday, 8/18, his little body could not handle anymore so his foster parents helped him cross. Brownie is now running free and sending Thank Yous to Gladys and Gregg Nicholls for letting him know he was loved and cared for. ASR also Thanks the Nicholls for being there for Brownie and doing all they could to show their love.

July 1, 2024 PUPDATE – Brownie is now one of our Special Shelties.  It was recently discovered that he has a massive tumor (about 6 inches long) in his abdomen and we are taking necessary steps to ensure he gets the best of care in a wonderful foster home.

The senior sheltie has arrived and has been vetted by Crossing. He needs a dental but is otherwise healthy. His name is Brownie, he’s 10 years old, and he is super sweet and mellow.
