An elderly gentleman in Kerrville passed away, and his senior sheltie was being boarded at a vet clinic in Kerrville. The vet clinic manager contacted us about accepting her into our program. Of course, we said yes and went looking for a permanent foster.  Her name is Miss Murphy Chowder, and she has been well cared for all of her life.  She is 12 years old, has a couple of health issues, including her gallbladder and kidneys, and has been on necessary medication.  The permanent foster turned into an adoption.  Miss Murphy Chowder found a new home, a new sister, and a new family. The lovely little one was adopted on intake; the family preferred adoption to permanent foster.

And for those that are curious, a little research on the history of Miss Murphy Chowder…it’s an old camp song and also an old Irish song, sung by Bing Crosby, called Who Threw The Overalls in Mrs. Murphy’s Chowder.
